Re: hi should i buy adobe photoshop painshop pro or coral im in the uk Hello whithelimetees,
I agree with Dave_S and I think the Corel solutions are cheaper to start with.
I do everything with Corel Draw and Photopaint for some years now and everytime I wanted to go deeper into Photoshop, I quickly came back to Corel because it is structured very clear and devided in specialized modules such as vector design with the Draw module, pixel graphics in the Photopaint module and things like OCR tracing and also some abilities for simple animations. For artistic digital paintings the Corel Painter is a cool application.
Photoshop of course has all the advanced functions and so much more free stuff available such as free action scripts, texture workflows, plugins and Zillions of great tutorials. But I still think it is harder to learn because all is stored within one program.
So you should test them all to find out which one fits your needs best.
Which applications do you use today to refine your graphics? There are also some very good freeware programs available, and one could set up a complete graphic studio only with freeware (you need to know what you want to do and grab the needed tools and combine them in useful workflows)
Plz, don´t hesitate to ask, and I´ll put together a little list with free progs to start with.
Have fun and greetz from Hamburg,
