Default recreating logo

i am trying to recreate a logo that someone gave to me. it is very detailed. i scanned it and traced it with corel draw 10. after the trace it is still very, very rough. i have corel draw and photoshop cs2...does anyone out there have any input in how to get this to come out clean? any info anybody has would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

One of the first things is: Resolution. You need a high res file, for it to trace good.

Second: Clean. It needs to be a clean image as well. If it is a scan of a printed image, it may pick up all those dots that make up the print.

Third: Tracing an image is not all that it cracks up to be. To redo a logo, most of the time it takes a lot of elbow grease and patience. Also tracing will not pick up such things as glows, shadows, gradients, etc.

I find that it is often easier to use a scan as a map and just draw clean bezier curves and lines. Otherwise I spend time deleting and moving points.

I like to scan in color at a high enough resolution. I use the curves adjustment feature in PS to remove colors or add contrast. Basically I am looking to bring out one color at a time to trace. I often change to greyscale and play with the curves adjustment to get a clear edge.

Post a pic of the logo so we can see if a trace is possible.

ArtPro works for me but is a higher initial cost than FlexiPro. It also carries a yearly contract.

Sooooo.... I recommend the old fashioned methods.
