Default How can I give my designs a Vintage, Worn look to them

I am a big fan of vintage t shirts that look worn, i.e. the graphic loks like it is scratched, flaking off, etc. Anyway, I have several designs that I would like to give the vintage look, but I am not sure how to do it. I am using Adobe Photoshop 3.0 and I have a little bit of luck with using different brush strokes and opacity, but it just doesn't look nearly as good as some of the shirts I have bought online like that. Anyway, if anybody has any advice, then it would be appreciated. Thanks

Bill

If you take a peice of carbon paper and crumple it up, then scan it. after it is scanned, invert it and trace it...you'll end up with a bunch of little white spots and cracks. place that on top of your artwork and you'll see that it now has a vintage look

Just use a GRUNGE brush in Photoshop and set the mode to CLEAR and mess with the Opacity or Flow to get the amount that you desire. You can either find a FREE (for commercial use) Grunge brush online or make your own by what the other poster said. Even if it isnt free..... no one would know that you used it since you are doing it as CLEAR it would be hard for anyone to even know what it is other than distressing your graphic. But it is better to be safe than sorry.
