Here is a tool brought to you by the fine folks of Standford: VectorMagic

This tool will turn your bitmap images into vector images just like Illustrator's LiveTrace and Corel Draw's PowerTrace. The only difference is that it is free. You can take the output vector file and edit is using a freeware vector art program called Inkscape. Draw Freely.. That should save you some money.

I'm a sucker for freeware tools. Plus, start-ups with a small capital funding can save a lot more money by learning to use freeware software (mostly open-source based).

Also, vector-based images can lower your image file size and make your Flash applications load faster. This is beneficial if you have a website with a heavy display of your t-shirt designs. You don't want your customers to sit there for a long time waiting for your content to load.

I've been using this a TON the past few days. It has already saved me hours. I wish it was something we could download and keep. It does a better job than I do manually, that is for sure.

I just checked out that site. Really cool. I was upset though because I just purchased my Corel X3 yesterday. I needed to get several designs to the printer. I wish I would have seen it yesterday. But it is still quick and easy. I Love It

This is freaking SWEEEEEET!! You just saved me from spending $1,000 (that I dont have) on software!! This is a great tool for those (such as me) starting out that dont have alot of extra money to spend!!

After you have finished vectoring your image, in the bottom left hand corner of your screen you'll see EPS | SVG | PNG.

Click on one of the three choices and download the file (your recently vectorized image) to your computer. Once on your computer, open the file in your program of choice.
