Default Can I add an outline to my fonts?

Is it possible to add an outline to fonts in ill? I am trying to put a black outline around a solid font. Maybe even put a white outline on green and then a green outline around the white. Is this possible? Thanks.

Highlight your item, copy it and then paste in back..look in your color window, the box in back is the fill color, the box in front is the stroke.

This will give you a cleaner looking stroke without choking down your text.

select your type. open the appearance window. click on "type" and then the small arrow to the top right. select add new fill and then add new stroke. if you drag the fill to the bottom, it will put the stroke behind the fill.
