Default Need Help lining up multicolors with registration marks.

What is the best method to line up the registration marks? I have all my artwork set up correctly and I am burning images good. I have a method of lining up my screens to match registration marks, but I am thinking there must be an easier way? I have lined up a 3 color on my press but I think the way I do it may not be the easiest.

Thx!

you might want to post this question in the "screen printing" section of the forum http://www.t-shirtforums.com/screen-printing/

it may get answered more quickly there

Here are a couple of options

#1 load a test shirt or pellon. print the darkest color (if on lights) and the lightest color (if on darks). Print and flash (quickly) line up the sequential screen from this.

#2 load a test shirt or pellon. print the darkest color (if on lights) and the lightest color (if on darks). Print and cover the entire print with clear tape.
Print each sequential screen wiping the ink off the clear tape as you go.

#3 tape a film/plate to a palette. register your screen to that. remove the film, load in the ink and do a test print. Adjust micros if needed

Thanks for all of your input I will try them all out. Imagit I have been using your method and it works. Fluid I have used one of your methods as well. I have one question Fluid, I don't quite understand your #2 method. Otherwise thank you guys!

i've noticed that the reg. marks aren't always "exact" alignment once on press. if the screen is slightly warped or if you have to pull one color a little harder than the rest, it might be a smidge off. i'll use the marks to get clocse, then use the micros. with the print still on the press, i wipe out the image, look through the screen to see where it lines up best, usually do this on the last color.

I meant to tape the entire print with clear tape. Makes for wiping the colors off easily in case your still out a tad.
Ill see if I can make a small video later this week. Depends on how busy we are.
