[Photoshop] - how do yo turn an image into a text one?
hi, does anyone knows how to turn a normal image into the same one but made out of text? i have seen this a few times but i just cant come up how to do this.

If this is what you are asking..... here is a tutorial that will guide you through the steps... Photoshop Tutorials by Cyber Ink Design (this will work on any current photoshop version).

i mean like.. the image is formed by letters,so you have your selected image and i guess you run it trough a filter or something to turn it into letters wich form the preferred image. is this any clear? :P
Eddy, do you mean some kind of effect like the Matrix movie, where people were seen by Neo as numbers scrolling down? If it is this, I think I know what you mean, This kind of effect is very much used in pages like Hi5 or Myspace when people leave you comments, Ive seen flowers, bears and all kinds of stuff formed by letters but Im not sure how this is achieved.
I think you might be able to do this useng a vector programs such as Freehand or Illustrator or Corel.
What you have to do (maybe) is trace the shape of the object you want then write letters and numbers and have those letters and numbers fit in the shape. I have done this with circles and squares but cant recall exactly how to do it right now. Maybe just make a huge paragraph, convert ti to oultines and make a clipping path with the shape you drew.
Anyways, there must be another way to achieve this, probably using a word processor, but I barely use that kind of software.
A while back there used to be a lot of freeware/shareware programs that would do this. Back when the internet was young, and people used to send those scrolling emails and such. Try doing a search for ASCII art programs - ASCII art - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Do you have a photograph or sample pic you could attach that shows what you're talking about?
imageIt has come the closest to waht i mean but i wonder if it works with color images? you know i've done it in the past i just cant recall how i did it!!! its making me go nuts!! i belive i did it with with photoshop.. and if not .. i think it was a generator on some site :/ ...
As far as i know, the only other person who made an image like this before me was a missionary in korea who wrote out a gospel in the image of christ, which he was apparently murdered for producing.
Because of this prior art, there is no way to patent the idea. All i would be able to do is copyright the software. Since the market for a product like this is so small and the idea can legally be taken, it remains just something i play with for myself. One day hope to make it a special service that only I can offer, either as printing or artwork.
