Default trying to seperate colors on Photoshp 6

I have Photoshop 6 and have always had a hard time seperating colors, I have a 4 color press so not doing process seperation just your basic. I watched a training video clip of a guy doing it on corel 3x and he made it look so simple to do, any ideas for photoshop. seems to be a overwelming program and mostly for pictures.
any help would be great thanks

Did you look in the "help" menu in photoshop? or on the Adobe web site?

Do you thin that the corel 3x is a better program to use doing simple color seperations than photoshop 6? I am just scanning in a logo and cleaning it up and then seperating the colors to make it ready for either 2, 3 or 4 color printing?
thanks

Any vector program for simple graphics will be a lot easier and more effective to use than raster.

I prefer Corel yet Illustrator is just as good

I watched a tuturiol on corel 3x and he was seperating 4 colors that were bitmaps and it looksed so simple, but i already have photoshop 6 but am looking at a dvd by scott fresener on the photoshop program but debating on just buying the corel instead. Is corel used more in screen printing then photoshop??

the CGS Corel Graphics Suite comes with DRAW which is a vector based program and PhotoPaint which is a raster based program like photoshop. Both have their pros and cons when used in our industry. Vector is used more widely than raster yet both are good.

If your designs are simple, vector is probably the best option.
Post a visual of a design you do. Will help to offer advice as to whats the best program
