Default CUT STUDIO Help

I am trying to make the CC with the arrow through it for a cross country design. I can't seem to make this work in cut studio. When I make it in illustrator, the arrow comes out as a straight line (single), not something that the cutter can cut so that I can weed around it. Hard to explain. Anyone have any suggestions that is a whiz in cut studio?

In illustrator, you can draw a path that looks 4 points wide, but if you turn off the preview, (View>Outline) it will only be a thin line. Cut Studio will only see and cut the thin line down the center of your line. (See black arrow and top outline arrow)

Select your line, and tell Illy to outline the stroke. Object>Path>Outline Stroke. Now in outline view, the path is a rectangle. (Second outline arrow)

Select the entire arrow and merge to get the Third outline, then add CC text, convert to outline for the fourth outline.

Select the arrow and the CC and merge again to get the bottom arrow, ready to cut.

If you see two lines crossing each other, be careful, the cutter will trace around each path and put a cut where you don't want it to be. (Like the fourth outline arrow, the shaft would be cut tracing the CC.)

From here you can take it to Cut Studio or just cut from the Illustrator plugin.

Turn on your pathfinder pallet. View>Pathfinder

I use the bottom row, third button from the left to merge the selected paths together.
