Where can I find an artist for cheap. I have a order where someone gave me digital picture. I want to screen press it. Its a pretty simple drawing but I can't draw myself. So I was thinking is there any company out there that deals in this field, that wont cut into my profits that much?
Ok I am very new at this and I am having a hard time with getting my artwork ready to make my screens. I have 3 digital pictures that someone gave me that they want on a shirt. The pictures are of his 2 work trucks and the 3rd is of his company logo. Now he doesn't want me just to heat press the digital pic on the shirt. So I was thinking maybe I can recreate the trucks by drawing them and the making them into a screen. I can't draw so thats y I was looking for a cheap artist. Do you know any other way to put digital pic onto a shirt.

Yes, there are companies that specialize in that type of work. You can find freelance artists in places like elance.com, guru.com, designoutpost.com, etc.
You can also search google for vectorizing services. Many of them will redraw logos for you.
A couple that member's here have used are places like vectordoctor.com and artworksource.com
I wasn't looking for an artist. I was just wondering what the OP's definition of "cheap' was for the work he was looking to have done.
Usually, if a prospective client tells me they are looking for work for "cheap" my first response is "I'm booked, sorry..." as, in my experience, this usually signifies that the client either has no concept of what goes into the work a graphic artist does and/or places little to no value on that work.
There is a saying around my shop..
Good work dont come cheap.. and cheap work dont come good..
I would find a good artist.. and add the amount onto the customers price.... if they arent willing to pay for a good design.. they can find another shop.. lol..
^^ I just had to explain that to someone who was looking for a designer via classified ad. He had a real problem with me quoting hourly rates as opposed to a flat rate per design. Oh well, I guess if you don't know the time and effort that goes into the work, you don't really respect it.
Just to let you know I charge around $250-$500 per vehicle design and I am on the cheaper end as far as vehicle artists go. I know a couple who are in the $500-$1500 range. Your best bet is to find some clipart of the customers vehicles. There are many clipart companies out there with good vehicle clipart packages. THIS IS NOT AN ADJust to let you know that vehicle renderings do not coe cheap in this industry
The OP may very well be willing to pay a certain amount, but since the OP is inexperienced, does not know what cheap or expensive is.
There is great work that can be done for $50, and there is great work to be done for $500. It doesn't sound like the OP needs $500 worth of work, though. The trucks are only 2 colors. Doesn't strike me as necessarily "vehicle design", though Richard .
Sounds more like something that's fairly simple.
I think it wise that one would want to maximize their dollars, and get the best work at the best price. If one can find someone to do quality work for less money, I don't see the problem.

Obviously this is what business is all about yet the approach needs to be re thunk.
As far as cheap and artist goes, it just plain doesn't. It will be real hard to find a quality artist with a post of needing a cheap artist. Remember you get what you pay for. Cheap usually = cheap
I do not see how a digital picture of a company truck is only a 2-clr unless they are wanting a simplified rendering. Even this I cannot see as being very cheap. I have an artist I use quote a bit to render line art for me. I usually pay $1-150 per rendering.
Again Im betting clip art can be found of the vehicles in question which would ultimately keep the costs down to a minimum unless the vehicles are highly modified. Even then the clip art could be modified.
A google search for vehicle clip art should yield some results
