Default software program

what is a good vector graphic program where i can scan in a picture and mess with it without it getting diestorted, and where i can insert some pics and play with them with colors adn cropping and vector thanks

I personally use photoshop cs3.. you can do vector + image editing... try it out for free @ Adobe - Photoshop CS3 editions

Photoshop has very little in the way of vector capabilities... you'd be better off with Illustrator for vector based graphics.

since he was asking for a software that would do both vector + image editing i recommended photoshop... i find it way easier... image editing in illustrator is a nightmare...

check out both Adobe and CorelDRAW. Download the trials and see which you like as they both are xlnt programs

To create a vector image from a scanned bitmap, Corel X3 has the best tracing features. I find tracing difficult in Illustrator. I use PS CS2 every day but have never used it for vector drawing. It's vector drawing capabilities must be very limited.

You are SO dedicated to Corel, but its nice to see you always have something good to say for Adobe and other programs too. Way to keep an open mind.
