Hello everyone!

I wasn't sure how else to describe this effect, but we've all seen it (that is if you have been to Disney or Universal recently) lately on the t-shirts not only for the Halloween Horror Nights event at Universal, but at Disney for some of their regular t-shirts they sell....It's a type of printing that is a raised ink, and when used for a blood effect, it really has a nice drippy effect...

I can get a picture online if you've never seen what I'm talking about, but chances are someone knows exactly what i'm trying to explain...Can you let me know what this is called and what machine/company may print this sort of thing?

that's usually a screenprinting technique that incorporates a clear gel over the ink. also could be done with puff ink or maybe high density ink.

pretty much a simulated process or Index print and as Kenn mentioned a clear gell printer over top to get the wet look.

Be prepared to pay a good amount for the gel. Most of the time you need a thick micron cap film and low mesh to get a good gel print. Pretty expensive stuff and the gel is about 8 times the cost of a regular gallon of ink.

Ill post a pic tomorrow of one we did for the Jacksonville Barracudas. You can get all sorts of cool effects with the gels and mixing multi specialty inks together

Puff inks will get you the raised look yet not the shiny wet look
