Hey, I have a small problem I need some help with. I'm trying to print off designs in Photoshop without a background (for black shirts now and other non white items later on). I removed the background layer (leaving it transparent) and printed off a white design.
I assumed even though I couldn't really see the design on the transfer that once I transfered it with my heat press only the design would be left, HOWEVER I just ended up with a big white blotch the shape of the transfer. The transfer I was using were peel the back and stick on (not mirror image). I thought about just having a really thin black outline, but this seems like a limited solution.
So how can I print off my designs to put on non white items?
If you are using Opaque transfers, you can't. That is how theyget the image onto the shirt. With a white background to print on. You could trim it as close as possible to the image.

I was afraid of that, do they make any other transfer sheets I can use for black shirts? I only found 2 when I looked, the other kind involved using a white transfer and a black transfer which seemed like useless extra work.
Is it possible to use the non Opaque transfer sheets that I used for white shirts and still get quality results on black and other non white shirts and items?
Think of it like this: If you took a black marker and colored in a box and then took another color, like blue and colored on top of it, what would you get? Black. Regular transfers won't work on black. With the same example, if you laid down yellow first, then used the blue, what would you get? Green. So if you have a yellow shirt and print colors on it, they will mix.

So any color item I'm printing on other than white I have to use the opaque transfers? And the only way to have just the image transfer with opaque transfers is to cut as close as possible to the image? If I do it in Photoshop, then print would that work? Will that fly if I want to print for commercial use (clothing line)?
