[Illustrator] - Noob question: How do I erase a frame?
I have an image that has a frame around it. I simply want to erase the frame. I thought it might be as simple as clicking on the eraser tool, and then rubbing over the frame until it's gone. Apparently it's not that simple. Any help?

Select the image with the black arrow tool, then Object>Ungroup.
Click off the image and then select just the frame, hit the delete key.
You may want to select all and group the remaining paths. Object>group
Thanks. I tried that and I couldn't get it to work, but I think I found the solution...click "live paint" and it lets me erase.
With Live Paint you can paint objects, not erase them! The frame is still there, but most likely in the same colour as the background now.
Can't imagine John's method didn't work, unless the frame is part of a sub-group within the total group. In that case you should've picked the Direct Selection Tool (white arrow) and click on the frame, then hit delete

Thanks. Yep, that was it. I needed to select the frame with the white arrow.
