Default How do you apply a glowing effect behind an object in Corel.

Hi People,

I am having trouble with an effect I am trying to apply to some artwork in Corel X3. The trouble is that I dont know how to do it. What I am trying to achieve is a glowing orange outline around all my t-shirt templates. The theme of my website is orange/black and I want to make my designs stand out with this effect. I have scoured the net and looked through the user manual but I cant find any reference to how to achieve this effect.

Please please help. Am going mad trying to work out how to do it. I am sure its simple. You can see the effect I am trying to acheive below on the image

Would be great to get the answer. Thanks in anticipation.

C33.

Try the Drop Shadow tool... if thats what you're after.

Or is it a Halftone Dot glow?

Jinkies! .... bring it in CorelPaint

Yep, the "interactive drop shadow tool".

Yeah....what they said.

Interactive Drop Shadow tool...I use it too much these days. LOL
I used that for the backlit effect on the Gazebo in this design, just select the size (Sm/Med/Lg) you want, change it from black, to the color you want & tweak til it looks right. This is a little different, since it's in the design....but you should be able to use it the same way for your purposes. Although, I would think that using Photoshop or Photopaint might be better for raster graphics like you're using here.

Thumbs up Re: How do you apply a glowing effect behind an object in Corel.

Hey Chip... err Don

I dont post much or look everyday here but that is one catchy colored shirt!

I like that!

Maybe try CoreLPaint also... the Interactive Drop Shadow tool can be wicked at times in X3.

Just add a thicker outline/contour to original object, send it to PhotoPaint (yea thats the name) and do some feather work to it and bring back in. Sorry, i use fotochop.

Hey Chip,

Thanks for that. Excellent stuff. By the way that T-Shirt is fab. Is that screen printed? If so how many colours and how do you get the drop shadow effect to be screen printed? Im a complete novice when it comes to screenprinting but if that is the kind of result you can acheive I am well impressed.

Cheers.

Don, that was a really nice shirt template, care to share it? Also, do you have a template for polo shirts? Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. I just put that one up, because we just ran a few samples of it this last Fri...Didn't think to take any pics of the actual print yet, but yeah it is being screen printed and is just 3 col White/Red/Yellow & we were toying with doing a hi-lite white, but looks like we shouldn't need it.
Thanks for all the compliments!

As for the template..yeah, I can share it with whoever wants it. I just recreated it off of another T-Shirt jpg that I found somewhere online....don't even remember where actually. I've actually got quite a few templates of all different garments, some good & some not so good...LOL I will see if I've got any good Polo type ones.
I'm still kinda new here and haven't completely found my way into every corner here at this forum, is there anywhere on here where we can upload & share files like that? That would be a heck of a lot easier than emailing it multiple times. Any suggestions? Actually, I'd be totally willing to share any clipart/templates that I've got, if there is an easy way of doing it on the site here.

Don

Give me a day or so here and I'll see if I can sort through my stuff and upload some for you guys.
