Default Re: Font manager program?

I use suitcase. It doesn’t seem to really affect my system at all in the way of performance. It allows me to turn fonts on and off, so that I dont have hundreds of fonts loaded at any given time.

I do experience some problems with photoshop and illustrator not maintaining "link" to the font. When ever I disable a font and re-enable it, it seems to lose the "link" in PS and ILL, and the programs do not recognize it. The font view stays the same, but if I try to edit it PS or ILL will tell me it is not loaded, and I will have to reselect the font... It's a pain in the butt at times, but I prefer to do that rather than have hundreds or thousands of fonts loaded at the same time.

I used ATM (Adobe Type Manager) years ago and experienced similar problems, but other than that it worked fine too.

Do a forums search for Font management. i posted 3 good ones and their urls.
You'll find a dif in performance when you have less than 300 fonts installed. you need to organize your fonts so you can easily find them without having too many installed as too many will kill your system. 400 should be the max. I stay around 250-300 at all times.
