Default Quark 5.0: Clipping away white areas for transparency on a colored t-shirt

Hello! I have designs created in Quark whereas there is a free standing image and I'll put a logo above it (an example of what I'm talking about can be seen here: http://cdn-80.cdn.buzznet.com/assets...5405423753.jpg ) with no frame or bounding box. If I clip away the white areas from the image will I get a transparent background against a colored t-shirt? I don't want to clip away the whote areas and still somehow end up with white edges around my design.

Not if you are going to print it on your own printer. The kind of paper you would need for color shirts, has a white backing on it. If you don't trim (manually) that away, then it will transfer on the shirt. You would need to either do that as a plastisol transfer or get them screen printed. As a side note, you really don't need quark for this.

I accidently clipped away the white areas from the photo of the mans face( http://rockamybaby.com/RastaOnesie_crackling2.jpg ) and SURPRISE the areas around his face were transparent. I used JetFlex Premium paper on a Lexmark printer. I want that same effect if I were to use an image without a frame as with this one. Thanks for your help.
