Guys i think im cursed or something with all these errors.I just got a dgi cutting plotter and i connect it with the usb to my other computer(windows Xp) and i followed all the instructions that i got in the book. Im trying to cut some vinly and whenever i push the print button, it sends the signal to the plotter but the plotter doesn't cut, it just rolls all the 30 feet ofvinly out. It doesn't cut and i get an error 1 on the plotter and it feeds all 30 feet of vinly in my small living room(lol )Do i eed to adjust the cutting area on Corel? Because the usb is installed corectly with the plotter.I would really apreciate it ig u guys could help me out. Thanks
Another thing you could do is go download some demo versions of some sign cutting software and just export your files from Corel and import them into the sign software you download. That the way I have always did it.
Doesn't Corel need special drivers loaded to be able to cut from it too?
sort of - it requires printer drivers and the plotter to be installed in your printer folder. if your plotter manufacturer supplies printer drivers it's not a big deal at all
Yeah it came with a floppy to install the plotter inot my printing folder. The computer sends signal to the plotter and the plotter doesn't cut it just eject all the vinly out. Where can i download a cutiing plotter software?
You should be able to plot straight from corel, if its just text depending on how your corel is setup you just right click on say black to give the text an outline i normally i remove the fill but you don't have to then hit print select the plotter it should be setup like a printer, make sure you go to the plotter properties and select hairline in the what to cut part sometimes theres an option for it to roll out before it cuts, turn that off make sure you select your vinyl width and align your image to what ever corner it plots from (mines bottem left) this works great with my roland cutter, only problem i've found is if i try and cut anything bigger than 1.6 meters corel crashes but i think they may have fixed that in one of the service packs, i've got a printer port to USB converter on mine and it works no problems.
Usualy the plotters bring ssome software to manage the cutting process. If your plotter didn't bring one try to find if it was supposed to bring one or try it's websit to see if you can download one.
