Hi everyone, yeah i installed Photoshop 6.0 on my new laptop and it worked great, but i installed fast films and now whrn i try to open photoshop, the screen blue and this message appears:"A problem has been detectedand windows has been shut downto prevent damage to your computer.
An attempt has been made to execute to non-executable memory.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable Bios memory options such as as caching or shadowing.
Dumping Phisical memory to disk:100"
This message only pops out when i try to go in to photoshop but not Corelor any other program. I ve uninstalled fast films and Photoshop and installed Photoshop again(by itself) and the same thing happens. What do youguys think i should do to fix this problem? My sptop is a Widows Vista Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Cp ,1.99 Gb of memory,Ram 2038,and its brand new ad the only prorams i'veinstalled is the Corel13 graphic package. I would really apreciate it if you guys could help me ou here. Thanks
This is just a guess, but it's possible that the software in conjunction with Vista is causing your problem.
I know a lot of people that have been having problems with running older versions of programs on vista.
If you have another cpu that has an older operating system you may just want to install Photoshop and your other application on it to test and see if you still get the same error. If you don’t get the same error, then it's likely it's Vista.
I don’t know what version of FastFilms you have either, but it could be that the versions of Fastfilms and Photoshop 6 are no longer compatible as well.
It's a compatibility issue, definately. It's either you downgrade to XP, or you'll have to sacrifice FastFilms / PS6... Damn, blue screen of death on a Vista... some things never change!!!
Yep its probaly Vista. I went to the photoshop forums on the Adobe website and the guy's over there said the same thing. One of them told me to upgrade my video driver but i have no idea what that is

Drivers are software that interfaces between your hardware and the operating system. For the most part they're updated by the manufacturer pretty frequently. Your video drivers are to run your video card (fairly important for graphics software). If you go to the manufacturer's website for your video card you should be able to find the new drivers pretty easily, and they're normally in a self-install file.
