Try a forums search as this has been discussed quite a bit.
Search
graphics software
Vector programs
Raster programs
Illustrator
CorelDRAW
Adobe Photoshop

hanes tshirtmaker (has a free lite version)
tshirt factory deluxe

either is simple to use but both have some limitations.

Good Luck

yej just use any graphic software...theyll offer a lot more control and flexibility than t-shirt specific software..but photoshop, illustrator, coreldraw etc etc are pretty hard to pick up if you aren't computer savvy..

I like Illustrator but its what I am accustomed to using. I suggest diving in and getting a good vector program and skip the freebie stuff. They can all be hair pulling experiences but once you get past the initial shock of the learning curve you will appreciate a good vector program with lots of options. Corel is a killer program too. It's probably quicker to grasp than illustrator and its cheaper too. Most of the knife guys use Corel in my experience and a higher precentage of design/illustrator types opt for Adobe illustrator. Its a personal choice I believe. If your doing Tshirt work it doesnt matter they will all give you the same end result. A lot of hard work and creative energy put into art that will eventually wash someones car LOL...
Best of luck to you
