Default scan to power trace

When I import a scanned image of a sketch I've done, say in black india ink, into X3 and use the power trace, some lines do not show up, and/or some bleed together. Sometimes I like how it changes it, but is there any way to minimize that effect from happening?

try the different settings in trace. there is everything from a line drawing to detailed logo. Sometimes I have had success with a settign that I would never have thought would work. I would also reccommed trying to adjust the smoothness and detail settings on the slders to the right. hope this helps.

Some times it might be due to the quality of the scan. You might need to scan at different resolutions to get a better scan. Or your lines might need to be thicker on you image you want to scan. I would lookm at those areas if your Trace is not doing the job to your liking. Remember it will trace the image and they don't always come out perfect.

Sounds like a tolerance setting. Try to decrease your tolerance so it picks up the lines that arent showing up. Or get a fine tip magic marker and re-trace your lines with that, then scan it in.

OR try a different trace program. I use Inkscape. Draw Freely.

Scan at a good resolution. If you still dont get good results e-mail me the file and I will see if I can get a good trace for you.

If the image is black and white, go into bitmap>mode>black and white. Select line art and adjust the threshold. Sliding it to the right will pick up finer lines a little better.
