Yes I'm aware that all (most) programs can export or save files as JPG's. But what I'm working on I need to publish a step by step how it is done with various software. In order that anyone who has never done before can try it and get it right the first time.
So far I have the step by step for:
1. Corel Draw: File Menu, Publish to the Internet, Select Folder, Single Image with Image Map, Export as JPG, Finish.
2. Corel Photo Paint: File Menu, Publish to the Internet, Select Folder, JPG, Save.
3. Microsoft Paint: File Menu, Save as, Select Folder, JPG, Save.
...this type of thing but for other programs like AI, others etc.....also programs like Microsoft Office ? I never own one so I have no Idea if JPG's can be created and saved there???
Created the graphic in Corel to size and color.
Clicked on the File menu: Publish to Internet ...and that was it. Saved.
I don't use Corel, but was wondering if "Publish to Internet" gives you a good enough resolution for the file? The internet is viewed at 72/96 dpi (Mac/PC), where as you would want a quality file to be 200-300 dpi. Richard(Fluid) would probably know the best way in Corel.

Just tried the default settings. This was an ".eps" file where I used "Publish to Internet"
in illustrator it goes like this:
file>save for web. select from presets JPG (high, low or med), save, select folder, format-images only, (name your file), save.
there are two ways in photoshop:
first is file>save as, select folder, format-jpg, save, quality (max, high, med or low), OK
second way is file>save for web. select from presets JPG (high, low or med), save, select folder, format-images only, (name your file), save.
i don't think you can save a jpg from word, but it looks like you have an option to save as a web page. i've never done this, so i can't tell you how well this works.
i know you can save as jpg from acrobat also. it may depend on which version you have, though. i only have that program at work (i'm at home now and i can't remember off hand) so i can't give you step-by-step for that, sorry.
i hope this helps you.

in Freehand
File>Export>Format>JPG>Setup (usually default is ok, but you can change to max, high, med or low) (name your file) (select folder) Export
in Acrobat Professional
File>Save As>Format>JPG>Setup (again, default is usually ok) (file name) (select folder) Save
in InDesign
File>Export>Format>JPG>(Select folder) (name file) Save (in the next Export window you can select the pages and resolution) Export
I don't think you can export to JPG from Quark (another reason to switch to InDesign! :-) ). I don't use too many other programs than these. If I can think of any others, I'll try to look into it for you.
