you can also draw right on a transfer sheet with sharpies. I think they transfer well but i never done wash tests. ...it's drawing in mirror image that gets complicated.

I tried it with Duracotton98 paper. At the time I did not have a printer yet but had the transfer paper so I press it and transfered fine on to t-shirt material. As you can see below.

I have experimented with the permanent markers & the acrylic paint.
The paint has to be very thin, otherwise some spots bubble up & peel away with the transfer. The markers work really well & seem to wash well also.
Just the results of my many experiments, you may have different results.
Re: scan Hand drawn color art work and put it on to a heat transfer
Hi
Can anyone tell me if an Epson Stylus photo 1280 will take pigmented ink ? I am a beginner and I am really starting at the beginning. My interest is to scan hand drawn art, trace it, color it in and print it to heat transfer paper. I hope I am on the right track! I would like to learn how to use a graphics program but which one is the right one and how easy are they to learn. My daughter is the artist and I am the sales force. of one. If you would like to contribute to my learning please reply with your post.

The transfers done with permanent markers seem to wash as well as the regular ink from my HP932C & I don't give them any special treatment, just wash and dry with the rest.
