HELP! Need help with Complex VECTORIZATION fom smaller images!
Help!
Great site with excellent members!
I am an ametuer photoshopper that prematurely created art in the wrong fashion.
I found images via the web that were very complex but in smaller/medium sizes and started to alter/add to them to create the finished product.
I was hoping just to have a VEC pro convert for me. Unfortuntely they are telling me it cant be done beacause of its complexity)
The problem is I need the art printed much larger than the artwork on the clothing(taking up much of the whole front of the shirt).
Is there any way "I can" or have a "Graphic pro" upscale the complex art to a much larger size to have it ready for printing?
Trace it?
Or is it hopeless?
Any and all help to solution is greatly appreciated!

Honestly your better off starting from scratch the correct way. not what you want to hear but your best option. There are artists out there that could mimic this deisng fairly closely in vector yet the bill would be huge. Something like this would take me about 30+ hours to vector while staying true to the original.
Unless your rich spend some time finding images that are of high quality and recreate your work at the correct resolution. Will just take some time searching for the right images.
good luck and sory to be the bearer of bad news

Fliud,
Thanks for the feedback. Its much appreciated!
This is what I was I thinking too.
I was hoping for some miracle program that could auto vec it! lol
Any ideas where I might be able to find artwork like this at a high Resolution/Large size?
If I have to, I will just start over in PS @ 300+ DPI or create it in AI.
Any other helpful advice?

Since I don't know the source I don't know - but it's certainly possible that that particular image is fine to use. It mostly depends how old it is... playing cards have been around a long time, so some of them are no longer protected by copyright (that is, you're free to use them).

Yeah, it doesn't make a difference.

Most websites won't say anything much, and you can assume the images are copyrighted. Clipart sites should tell you the status of the images on their site, how you can use it, etc. Ultimately you have no guarantee they're telling the truth, but you acted in good faith. Some copyright owners are willing to let you use their work if you ask, so it doesn't hurt to ask either (worst they can do is say no).

i did a live trace on your image and the end result wasn't actually too bad.
the text doesn't come out great. but if have the original image of the queen on its own, then you could do a livetrace on that, then add the text on top. would save you loads of time and the effect is still pretty good.
