Default Bitmap: distress overlay on a bitmap - how will it be printed?

Hey everyone! I just used the distress overlay on a design and then I converted it to bitmap but then the concentration of distress became greater. But then I printed it and the concentration was lessened. If I send it to a professional screen printer, which way would it be printed - the way it was printed and showed up when I printed or the way it is showing up on the computer when I changed it to bitmap? Sorry of this if this is confusing.

When it showed up on your computer, were you viewing it at 100% zoom, or at a smaller zoom that would make the distressed lines seem bigger?

But it only happened when I converted it to a bitmap. When I printed it, the distress lines were small again.

more than likely it is just anti aliasing your seeing.
Why are you converting to a bitmap? Your printer should be able to accept the native file type. (depending on the program your using)

i like converting the distressing to bitmap in illustrator so i can see the distressing in the same color as the background so it looks more like what the final product will be.

Can you email that file to [email address] so I can take a look at it?

We have dot gain issues in this industry we need to be aware of also if I can see the file I can tell if you are OK and offer some other advise.

It's just the way Illustrator represents raster and vector. The vector will look smoother.
