I'm still learning Illy and am trying to upload a file to Vistaprint.com, but the image is somewhat blurry in the proof. I spoke to customer service and they told me that the artwork should be created at 300 dpi. Unfortunately customer service could not tell me how to accomplish 300 dpi so I am hoping one of you can fill me in. I would greatly appreciate any and all help.

Bella ~ Illustrator is a vector program so ppi/dpi is not even an issue ... unless you placed a raster image into Illustrator that you created in another program.

Everything I did was created in Illustrator. I guess the customer service rep. didn't know what she was talking about. But, then I still have to address the issue of my artwork appearing blurry in my Vistaprint.com previews. Any ideas?

If the file was uploaded in vector as an .ai file, then you shouldn't have any problems with the resolution. I've never dealt with Vista Print, but occasionally I'll have a vendor send me a low resolution proof. It looks blurry, but it's not representative of how it'll print.
I haven't used Vista Print before – but I have used another on-line printer – and when I upload my files they are a little fuzzy in the proofing stage (just like scpromos said), but the final product is just fine.
If you're still nervous about it maybe you could call customer service back and hope you get somebody a little more knowledgeable this time.
