Thanks for posting the Comp Gen Richard and Rodney.

I set up the version on the server with the files saved back to Corel 10. I had forgotten that 10, 11 and 12 can't open X3 graphics. So the files will work for older versions of Corel Draw now.

I should have added a PDF export to the video, I tylically export to PDF and then send to the client. Everyone has acrobat reader now days and can open the PDF file. The PDF file can also be opened by most artists and printers and if the PDF was created Corel it can be reopend accuratly in Corel just like the original Corel file most of the time.

I am looking into an illustrator version at this time... VBA works for illy on the PC but I think it would have to be Javascript to work on MACs and PCs.

exporting to PDFs is also a good idea. That will make it easy for the customer to print out and pass around.

customize corel and add the pdf generator button to your property bar. Makes for an easy pdf with a click of a button

You know I think I will ad the button to my tool bar... I updated the video this morning realy fast so its not the best but I was in hurry. The vid now shows users of older versions of corel how to fix the folder address and I added the pdf export to the video.

the PDF feature is a really good idea.
this way the proofs can be viewed by just about everyone on different platforms.

the only problem I see is that your "Play Now" button sort of looks like "Pay Now". ...but it's free.

Is there a way to change it so we can load a different style garment to use for the proof?

Like if we had a vector hoodie or women's style t-shirt. Is there a way to substitute that in? Or would that need a different button?

Rodney,

Yes that would require adding a selection (combo box) feature instead of a button, but it can be done fairly easily. Or you could ad additional buttons depending on how may different types of comps you would want to create to run in the generator.

I was actually toying with the idea of making it so that you could ad you comps to a list and set up it throught the system on your own as needed basis. Some work there but I believe it is dueable.

It would look something like this... and have many comps to choose from. Or maybe some additional features so that you add new comps to the list.. Now that would be a customizable comp generator.

That would be pretty cool! The locations stay the same, but the drop down list would let you select: t-shirt, hooded sweatshirt, long sleeve t-shirt, ladies short sleeve t-shirt, etc.

If you could load your own blank t-shirt comp templates, that would be nice as well. There's some good vector t-shirt templates here (like camoflauge, etc)
