Default Design Direction

I'm a creative person and want to get into t shirt designing and selling. What software should I learn to get started? What is the most common direction to go in?

Default Re: Design Direction

There are mainly 3 programs that are considered to be the standard for T-shirt design. Adobe Illustrator, CoreDraw and a shareware program named Inkscape. These programs are all vector based drawing programs. That means instead of using bitmap images to create a file as in a photograph, these programs use mathematics to create line art graphics.
The advantage of this is you can change graphic sizes from tiny to gigantic and all detail will be proportionate.
I use Illustrator, but you can get started for free with Inkscape, just google it to go to their site and get a free download.
Good Luck!
