Default Photoshop elements question

I have photoshop elements and was told that I can lower my megapixals with the program so my page will not load slowly.
Does anyone who has the program know the steps that I take to do it?
Thanks
Shanne

it should work by going to IMAGE > Image size then putting the new number in. At least, that's how it works in regular photoshop

I'm using PSE7.

What I normally do is select "Save For Web" from the File Menu when creating an image to use on the internet. It creates a lower resolution graphic just for websites, either gif or jpg and you can tweak it a little if you need to.

Be sure you also save a copy as a PSD file. You won't be able to go back and edit layers of your Saved For Web copy.

Let me know if you still need something else and I'll try to answer.

Dennis
