Find an image you like and open it in your graphics software. Make sure your rulers are visible. Check the image dimensions against the ruler. If it is correct you should be good to go as long as you do not change the dpi for any reason when you go to print it.

Thanks for your reply, can you let me know what graphics software would be good for this?

Adobe or Corel software suites are the top two software packages for editing graphic images. There are some free graphic editing software packages on the web to like Gimp and Inkscape as well.

Depending on what type of image you will be editing, you would use a graphics program that is made to edit that type of image. For editing a jpeg for example you would use Adobe Photoshop, Corel PhotoPaint or Gimp. If you wanted to edit a vector file like an eps you would use Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW or Inkscape.

All of these program have ruler tools, sizing tools, meta data viewers and editors so you can figure out exactly what size an image is, or even resize the image so it will print exactly how you want it to.
