hi,

i am a newbie to this business and by mistake i used dark transfer paper with yellow grid (inkjet) on a white shirt. it came out just as well.

am i missing something? why are two separate types of paper sold?

You didn't miss anything.....It works fine. Long term as the shirt changes color. You will see the white of the paper.On the other hand, as it were, most transfer printing is not for the long term anyway.
