Default Font question?

Ok, when I designed a shirt I used a special font. Whenever i send the design to someone who does not have that font on their computer the text comes up standard (times roman). I would like to get the shirt printed through a screen printing company and the company has asked for the orginal adobe file so that they can create the necessary template. The company doesn't have the font we used on their computer so the font they see is different than what i would like. Has anyone had this problem? If so how did you resolve it?

I sent them a pdf of the shirt so that they know what the font should look like but they said they still need it in adobe to create template.

Save the font as curves and it becomes an object.

with the text selected, click on "convert to outlines" under the "type" menu. the type will now be curves instead of text.

since the text will not be editable after converting to outlines, make sure you "save as" and not overwrite your original file.
