Default New to all this, need some guidance

Hi everyone. First, I gotta admit, I'm pretty glad I was able to find this forum, as Ive been reading through it, trying to figure out which route I should go.

Heres the deal. Me and 2 friends are starting a small clothing company. Nothing major. It started because a friend got sick of spending 20 bucks on shirts, and began with blank undershirts and fabric pens. I came in as the digital guy. I already had logos, and ideas drawn out in photoshop and illustrator.

Heres where I need some help.

We're unsure which direction to go to start putting digital images down onto shirts. We've looked at screenprinting, heat transfers, DG printing, etc.

Screen printing looks like it might be a lot of work, for something thats still a small project. Plus were not entirely sure what were doing, and wed hate to spend all the time and effort, and have it backfire.

Heat transfers are iffy. I've used them in the past and they never seem to turn out right. I always had the clear border effect, and if I remember correctly, white is a pain in the butt to do, because you have to cut out each individual character. We've leaned in this direction solely because we already have a heat press.

Digital printing..... yea right.

The only other option I can think of, that makes sense, is Plastisol transfers. I'm tempted to try it, but I couldn't really seem to find a ballpark price on how much they would cost, per shirt, without emailing anyone.

So I need your help. What methods work best for you, or what do you think the best, most cost effective way of doing this is?

-p.s. For heat transfers I have a xerox phaser 8850 at work that I can use as long as I replace the ink I use. Its worth quite a bit of money, and the images it prints are phenomenal, but Ive heard that certain inks don't transfer because of drying agents.
