 Looking for a global distributor/supplier for licencing opportunity

Over the last 18 months i have designed a very unique interactive Kids soccer t shirt with the world cup 2010 in mind. Form the reaction i received to date It is a very appealing T shirt and is sure to be popular with the kids. The t shirt design includes the national flags and team colors of each national them and does not infringe any trademarks etc. ( world cup, south Africa 2010 etc).
I have now received my final samples with hang tag, barcode, etc. I now wish to license my design to a global clothing distributor/supplier who have the infrastructure and contact to get the t shirt in all major competing countries.
I initially thought of approaching the big names with the design but I think there would be a conflict of interest as the likes of Addidas and Nike are sponsors on most of the national team kits. Addidas is also a fifa partner so that would not go down to well. I approached fifa earlier in the year but they said that they already had their merchandise in final sample stage.
I am finding it difficult to locate a global distributor that has the marketing and logistics to get this t shirt to the shops. However, as it is a kids t shirt and will be a seasonal sell it would be ideally suitable for an Aldi supermarket or similar. I find that it is extremely difficult to deal with them as a start up. For this reason I would prefer to license the design to a global distributor who has the ability to supply to a variety of stores in most countries in the world.
I have already met with a potential investor who has contact in south Africa and a distribution network in Australia but as this event is once every 4 years I feel I need to may hay while the sun shines and I am over 20k in debt trying to get this off the ground.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. |
