I think he was probably stating his opinion (which might be biased because he sells
DTG printers)
At the screen printing booths, they would probably tell you that screen printing is best.
Embroiderers will tell you that embroidery often outlasts the garment it's embellished on.
We all have our preferences
DTG printing is very good and I think when done right, it could be used for retail sales, but to say that it's "equal" to the quality of screen printing might be a stretch if both are done perfectly.
