I have a problem and I'm need of serious help. I hired a graphic designer to do 3 designs for me. He agrred to payment and signed the contract to do 3 designs from scratch to "print" ready. I gave him initial ideas/concepts and half of the money upfront for one design. He said he started to work on it, but kept emailing me every few weeks saying he was behind schedule and needed more time. It has now been going on 2 months now. I emailed him with my thoughts and mentioned he signed a contract, but he will not answer my emails at all. I have found another graphic designer, but what should I do? Any thoughts?
I did email him and told him that I want my money back, but he doesn't reply to my emails. The crazy thing is, this designer is a designer for a "Top of the line" clothing company. I have seen his website with his designs. He was all commited to doing the designs and all, but as soon as he received the payment he started with the excuses. I'm not sure if I can post his info on this website or not. Anyone else been in this situation? I really feel I've ben taken advantage of.
Is this designer in your area, or have you been working online with him? I would say that if he does not respond I would send him one more email and a certified letter in the mail stating that if he does not respond and return your money you will need to take other actions. If he does not respond to that, then I would file a small claims on him.

I live in Canada and he lives in America. We were doing the work online through email. It's been a few weeks since he hasn't responded to my last email asking for my money back. I will email him one more time and mail him the certified letter.

That actually can be a problem with the being in another country. I hope there is some kind of recourse available to you on this. I am not sure how that would work. Hopefully he will respond to your message with it being more firm.

I was thinking the samething. Due to us being in different countries, there might be a issue. Is there some way I can post who this guy is on this site. I wouldn't want anyone else going through what I did and getting robbed by this guy.

I'm not sure if he is a member on here. He could be under a different username that I don't know. I posted an ad on craigslist. He replied with a proposition that sounded great. We worked out a deal and he wanted to start right away. I've seen his work and it is topnotch designs. I was so excited and he told me he wanted to help up and coming clothing lines. Some help huh?

i can respect that you dont want to post his name and or company name if you are not allowed to. i would like to know if you have given any sort of clues in your post here. It is my opinion that I think that you may have
For all I know he could be reading this right now, but I haven't given any clues to who it is or what company he does work for. I don't want to get into any legal troubles or anything. All I'm saying is he has done designs for a "big" namebrand. You would think he would of been a bit more professional about the whole thing.

Thanks for the words. The good thing about this is I made him start a new design from scratch. I'm lucky I didn't give him one of my sketched designs I already have done. He probably would of stolen the money and the design and claimed it as one of his designs.

To be honest, if he is a top notch designer that replies to you on craigslist... you might have been scammed. Why would a top designer reply to craigslist?
