i have a friend in indonesia who told me its a lot cheaper out there to print... i was thinking maybe i can send him all the blanks i want, and then have him print them and send them back to me?
is this a good choice? i live in the u.s. by the way
Well, most likely it is cheaper. You also have to think about extra shipping costs and the time it takes between you and your manufacturer. I'd do some calculations and see which one is cheaper.

i think that depends on the quantity required
here in the uk we can print very cheaply indeed, it is just the shipping that kills
That and the average quality would be lower. But yeah, shipping kills it. If you source the product in Indonesia as well to halve the shipping it would be more worthwhile. But unless you're doing container loads, not much cheaper.
From everything that I have read, and other printers that I have talked to that go overseas with orders, you need to print large quantities for it to be cost effective, and have a good contact to work with. The printer that I spoke with goes overseas with orders of 10,000+ per design for t-shirts. He said that it takes roughly 3 months for the whole process. You will also need to find a reputable manufacturing company either by traveling and observing companies or by lining up someone with import/export experience with the apparel industry that is local. There is a language barrier with many of these companies. Then there is lining up a shipping company, importer, etc. I would think that shipping is the biggest expense, so shipping shirts there may be defeating the purpose. Having them manufactured and printed there would probably be more cost effective if you choose to go this route.
Uups pressed something wrong.
If from the US why Indonesia ? You could just as easily go to Honduras or Guatemala and find yourself a printer there. They will be just as good, and your shipment charges will be much lower.
