Hello Stupidts,
Good for you and I wish you much luck.

Your question was about finance, advertising, products, etc...but if you are ready to start selling at Canada Day it would appear that you already have that figured out.

Is there something more specific you are inquiring about?

Katrina

If you have your own designs and they are hot, I would try them cause they can only get them from you.

Thumbs up Re: I'm new and starting up a t-shirt business and i need some tips!

Hello Stupidts,
I would recommend a search on google on how to start a small business. You should find all sorts of info you can use. You could also spend some time reading everything about printing on this website. Good luck!

Yes i would say take the advice of CheckMate. I would first start off designing your own tees. the advantage to that is you have all the creative control. Secondly like dav44 stated is correct. If your creations are hot only the public can get it from you. Thirdly you need to start small. What i mean by that is get some feedback from your friends and family. Start selling to them. Get your friends involved and have them help you sell the tees. Give a couple of your friends the tees to wear so that they can market and promote your product. There is nothing like a walking billboard. Make sure you wear your product. How else are people supposed to believe in your product if you dont wear it.

As far as financing is concerned see if your parents can loan you the money. Purchase the tees wholesale, then find a good printer and work out a deal with him to print your tees. Remember that when you first got to the printer they will charge your for a screen, film/art and ink. Depending on how many colors are involved in your design it can be anywhere between $1.50 - $5 per shirt for ink. So keep that in mind. I suggest that you keep your logo as simple as possible with the least amount of color.

Before you go to get your t-shirts printed you should set up a budget of how much all this stuff will cost you. Heres and example that i use:

Budget:
1. Tees - $
2. Ink Fees - $
3. Screen - $
4. Film - $
----------------------
Total Cost -

You then divide the total cost by the amount of shirts you will have done. This will give you your final cost per/shirt.

I always use the method of double my cost of the shirt and make that price the selling the price of the shirt. But it depends on who you are selling the shirt to. If your selling them to people your age you might want to lower the price of the shirt just to get your designs out there.

I hope i was of some help.

Good luck!!!!
