Default New setup

I have a new setup for my t-shirts. I am using an epson 1400 & 15 X 15 heat press. I was thinking about using the sublimation ink and the self weeding transfer paper for both light and dark shirts. I have seen the results and to me they look good. I also got the CIS from inkjetfly but I dont know if their dye ink is the same as sublimation ink. I also havent heard of results of the combination of the 1400 with the sublimation inks and the weeding transfer paper on the forums. Has anyone had good results with this? Any answers will be appreciated, thanks!

Reading your post I get the sense you don't actually understand what dye sublimation is - it's probably worth reading up on it further. It's quite a different process to the other systems of heat transfer. Whereas they involve transferring an ink coated polymer onto the shirt, dye sublimation transfers only the ink into the actual fibres via sublimation. It only works on man-made fabrics, such as polyester. Generic dye ink is not the same as dye sublimation ink. They're not really so interchangeable as all that.

Well there are some transfer papers for sublimation inks (Forever brand for example). They work similar to normal inkjet or laser transfers (can be also cut out by a cutting ploter) but are far far more durable. The new ones have even quite a soft to the touch.

Oh thanks a lot guys that answered a lot. I am just going to use the CIS with the pigment ink for light shirts and cut out the designs with the CraftROBO-CC200 as well as the white and red vinyl for my black shirts.
