Default Designs

Hi all,

I have design ideas only for a Christian t-shirt business I'm starting.

I'm going to be producing these myself via a heat press and using F&M for full color transfers.

For the veterans on board here.... How many designs do you recommend to launch?

And does anyone here recommend as graphic artist that can put my ideas into art to be printed.

In Christ,

Marc

It varies, but I tend to think around 4-12 is a good range for a clothing label launch.

For something like Christian tees, I'd go for the upper end (unless you had a good new concept, in which case the lower end could work).

The problem with Christian tees as a genre (of course, by no means exclusive to this genre) is it means a lot of different things to different people. For a start there's a subtlety spectrum - some like shirts that aren't obviously religious, some like them to be very clear in their message, and everything in between. Then there's the problem of what Christianity means to the wearer - people tend to approach their religious beliefs in very different ways, so it's not actually a very unified niche.

Point being, whereas with a more homogeneous niche you could launch with four designs because you can be confident anyone in that niche will like any given two of them, with something that broad you need some broad strokes to convert sales.

I'm a strong believer in starting out small. Since you aren't printing directly on the shirt you will be able to reorder shirts when you run out of that size. I am starting my second clothing company and didn't expect smalls to sell so well.

What I would suggest to you is order the minimums and see how well you do.
