Default Shipping outside the US

How do you guys ship out of the US? We get plenty of requests from Europe and Canada, but always turn them down because I hate all the paperwork involved. (I do bulk wholesale orders).

There will always be customs documents when you ship out of the US. Depending on the weight & size of your shipment, you could try US Postal Service, FedEx, or UPS. Some shippers offer on line completion of custom documents, but you'll still have the paperwork to complete. Just the nature of exporting.

Are there strict regulations I need to be aware of? What you can and can't export?

And how do you take payment from overseas customers? (I'm afraid of scams).

We have the same issue. Not a ton of orders from Canada and Europe. But a few. For Canada we have used USPS. Filled out the documentation which is not that complicated and shipped. Not an expert but when I checked out UPS charges vs USPS. For Canada USPS was always less costly.

For the Europe orders we have received. I normally seem to end up scratching my head and refunding the payment with an apology. If I may add two related question to this thread. Is there less payment protection, or difference in terms when using PayPal for international shipments. I phoned PayPal to ask. But got off the phone more confused then I was before I called. Also,
we have shipped a few small orders to customers on U.S. military bases abroad using their APO. Shipping worked fine for the orders. But are there any issues to be aware of when shipping in this manner. ( I am comfortable shipping to APO's with Domestic bases, just want to know if there are issues to be aware of when shipping to bases abroad)

Thanks,
