Hello everyone,

thanks to everyone that has helped me on this site to gather information on making my own label.

well i want to try something new and actually design womens string bikini's.

What do i do there as it is aparent you cant really buy blank bikinis so does anyone have some suggestions out there that would be able to get me on the right path to solving this delemer.

do i need to get a textile place to make fabric?? and then what do i do there..

Most bikinis are made from 80%poly /20%lycra, 200gsm fabric. The fabric can be bought without being specially made, but might be a bit pricey depending on what country you are located in.

Just go to a fabric shop and buy some 4-way stretch fabric from the dance/swim fabric section. Usually it's nylon/lycra. You don't need much in quantity just to see if you like the whole idea. The average bikini doesn't have much fabric in it, so it won't be too expensive. Work with some ideas and take it from there.

Incidentally, you can buy blank bikinis, they just may not be suitable for what you want to do.

If you have a heat press, you can use sublimation. Here's a link to a great video explaining the process.

depending on where you live this may not be a good idea... lol
i live in canada so bikini season is like 3 months.
