Default Selling price and POD

Kinda just wanted everyone's feedback. I have around 65 designs and well cost reasons will only let me start with an order of about a dozens designs. Is it could to go POD for the rest of the shirts and at what cost per shirt is a good starting point to make a little turnover.

Personally I'm not a fan of POD, but that's my thing. Regardless, I don't think mixing your offering is a great idea. As far as price... it depends on your costs and your target market. Anything from $12-24 is pretty normal online, with outliers above and below that.

Quality issues, lack of control, profit margins, inflexibility, branding, etc.

Personally I don't think it's a good idea at all, not just at first. Why? Because it's confusing to customers, and it splits your brand's focus.

It's important for your branding that you have consistency. If some of your products are, for example, DTG printed shirts from Cafepress while some of your shirts are screenprinted shirts that you send out yourself, you're running two completely different companies under the one name.

You run the risk of leaving customers scratching their head on why they can't just order two different shirts they want in one shipment.

You can't market consistently, because you're not selling the same product depending on which one people choose.

If you wanted to run a POD site and a site based on pre-printed inventory then personally I would recommend running them as separate brands.

You will find that with all the competition in the POD world Quality issues are a thing of the past. Get samples from several POD's and go with the best.

I disagree POD's offer a great no risk no cost opportunity to get into a multimillion dollar industry.

Profit margins I would say 100% profit on your first sale is a pretty good margin.

Branding you will find many POD's now days that not only allow you to brand your site, shipping labels etc.. They will actually help you with branding tips and tricks.

Actually the screen printer I found for my intial designs does in fact do POD..soo all my inventory would be coming from one place. I guess the only down side is the cost of POD...so far for color shirts would be around 15.00 a shirt.
