Default Two Beginner Questions

I have a couple questions to ask about the industry that have been nagging at me for a bit.

1. I live outside the US (New Zealand), are there any screen printers out there that will order the shirts, print them, package them, then ship them for me, rather than me charging pretty much everyone international shipping rates?

2. Not exactly a t-shirt question... but if blank tshirts (and hoodies, etc) are considered a canvas more than anything, where is the line drawn? Do blank jeans exist for example?

PrintMojo does exactly that. There are probably other companies that could also provide similar services, but they're the only one I know of that is already setup to do exactly that and have been around for years.

That's a surprisingly difficult question to answer, but if I had to I would say the line is drawn at jersey knit cotton.

If it's made from jersey cotton there's a good chance someone will make it (between American Apparel, Alternative Apparel, and Bella you've got a wide range of pants, skirts, dresses, bags, hats and other accessories covered).

Denim on the other hand... not so much. There are manufacturers who'll sell you blank jeans, but as a resource they're not there for the easy taking like something sold from Gildan, American Apparel, etc. would be.

PrintMojo looks good, but what is the extent of their production ability? I see they re-label and embroid, but can they offer, wrap around, all over and other specialized screen printing techniques?

I'll contact them either way.

Thanks for the info on the second question.

I see you're in Melbourne, just out of interest can I ask if you run a t-shirt company (or general clothing) and if so how you go about selling overseas, if you do?

Thanks

Basically I don't know, you'd need to ask them.

From what I do know, I'd say their offering is wider than most fulfilment companies (for example they'll source a wide range of brands, warehouse and ship product sourced elsewhere, etc.), but probably not without its limitations.

If I had to guess, I'm guessing they don't do things like all over printing (few do), but would do other specialised techniques (like foil and puff). But I don't know, you'd need to follow up with them.

If you want other options, there are a few companies that try and act as one stop production shops, and then companies that do just fulfilment. So if you used one company to produce and one company to ship, you might be able to get everything you want out of just two companies.

You can ask, but I'm pretty tight lipped

I'm spread across a few areas, one of which is t-shirts. I tend to focus local.

I have considered the possibility of using PrintMojo before, but I haven't engaged their services. Most t-shirt fulfilment companies (e.g. Cafepress, Zazzle, etc.) don't use screenprinting, which rules them out for me. If nothing else, PrintMojo is the winner by default (for me; others will have different requirements).
