Default How slow are you?

Just curious as to how slow you all are. I've been okay busy, but not crazy busy. Its just nice to gauge myself against fellow t-shirt printers. I'm a one woman shop, nothing too big. What is it like for the rest of ya out there?

I actually do apparel for corporate events and it is pretty much same ole same. I thought it would drop off considerably but with all the Hotels and conventions in my area I have not felt the hit. A True Blessing. I usually slow down this time of year anyway but it has been steady just like the last few years.

I just print part-time and have been for the last 8 months. Last month was double any other month and I am on pass to beat that this month. Work almost every night when I get home and ALL weekend, but because of it being part-time and can have a little lower of a price.

Jammed!!!!!!!!!!!! but we do more than just Tee shirts. Although this month so far we are really busy in our shirt division. We are in Brooklyn the T shirt capital of the world. Everyone is in the business, if they are not designers then they are printers. We do something unique so that helps.

February was a bust. January was much better. I really hope it picks up in March. You can hear crickets chirping in the shop.

Been steady . . . Nothing to write home about . . . but also I am a garage printer. We just had the rodeo and some of the same sponsors are looking at other things through us. Just glad that this is part time.

I looked at our numbers again and I kind of take it back. Kind of.... lol

Although we're down in sales from last year, profit margin is near last year. Why? We are taking in more graphic jobs, and graphic jobs are almost 100% profit in terms of cost. It just cost time and our skills. For tshirt jobs, our total sales amount is cut in about half for profit.

At this point, I'd much rather just do graphics anyway. Also, busy is a relative term . I think of the word busy as making money. We're busy working, but the money aint showing it is another term for busy. It feels like we're working crazy busy, but the sales ain't showing it.

Like Outdabox says, hopefully it picks up in March.

We have been real busy. A record Dec and Jan. Double from last year. February is ahead of last year also but not by much yet but we have a 4000 shirt order to do this week. But I do know of 1 printer a mile down the road that is closing and another 3 miles away that is in real trouble, laid off most people and only working 2 days a week there at the most. I feel real blessed by the work we have been getting but I always knew that quality and deliverability are the two items that keep us busy.

My shop has been doing ok, but I (one man show) just shifted over to a new method.

I stopped printing on new stuff, and shifted into high end thrift finds, making unique pieces.

I'm finding I am getting a better line of sales from creating something people can feel "green" about.
