Default Holiday Sales

I was just wondering as the holidays approach what folks do to prepare for the season. Do you alter your website a bit with holiday themes? Offer holiday type gear? Offer discounts, free shipping etc. I am just curious how you gear up for the season and a piece of the pie?

I think I'm going to go with free standard shipping in the US starting in a few days and lasting until the rest of the year. I'll probably lower my international shipping as well.

Discounts and coupon codes are also a good idea to encourge folks to shop at your store.

Also, if your shopping cart has the ability to sell gift certificates, that can be a great way to increase holiday sales. People can buy for a person that they know would like something from your shop, but might not know the size or style they'd prefer.

I'll be offering 2 for $20 when I print my next set of shirts. I could offer shirts for $10 a piece but this encourages people to order more. Basically, when they order a shirt, they just have to pay $5 to get another one.
