Default So...now what?

Hello, I just registered my trademark and the conformation email said that it could take anywhere between 13 months to 18 months for it to be approved. My question is should I wait a year plus to start selling my t-shirts or should I go ahead and start selling them even though my LOGO isn't registered. I already have 10 t-shirts that are print ready...what would you guys do?

Start selling now!! Just make sure that anywhere your name is mentioned that you have the "TM" located next to it. You are allowed to use the "TM" once you have submitted your application for trademark.

Really? I can do that? So if I just applied for my trademark today, I could technically sell my t-shirts tomorrow, as long as the logo on my shirts has a small TM next to it.

Once your trademark is registered in the system, now I'm assuming you processed it online which will then give you a confirmation code, it has been officially registered. Now, this doesn't mean that you are approved, you still have to wait a long time for official approval. If you are worried about someone taking your designs just make sure that you watermark them on your website.

Great I think I understand you, and yeah I did online and just received my serial number and know that its going to be a looooong time before I get approved. So all I'm going to add to my shirts is a TD circle to my logo...thanks a bunch for letting me know that

Sorry, I"m confused.

Are you guys talking about a design or a company logo? The threads above refer to both. I thought "designs" usually fall under a copyright and not a trademark. Again, sorry, I'm new to all this.

You can also use a TM even if you don't register your trademark. But it doesn't guarantee anything.

Stax,

You can use your logo anytime you want. The question is, is your logo going to be approved? Ask yourself what you would do if you started selling under your clothing name, but a year later they denied your registration? Basically, use at your own risk.

Yeah that's pretty much the worst case scenario. I do have a back up logo and name though and hope to god I don't have to use it
