I had a couple get back to me and recommended a couple of epson 8x11 printers for under $100. Thanks. Any recommendation on a 11x17. If its not much higher, would you recommend going that rout. I assume also that you van use the 8x11 paper in it?
Thanks, kevin
Always go bigger if you can afford it. If I want a 9" circular design, you can't do it on an 8.5 x 11 printer. And a 9" circle is a small circle on a shirt.
I have the c88, c120 and the 1400 epson's. I use JPSS - Jetprosofstretch paper. The 1400 can print up to 13x19, and the jpss comes in sizes up to 13x19. I can't see being limited with that printer. It's really up to you, what size designs you want to do.
Thanks for the replies. First I dont have a press or anything except a standard Hewlit Packard printer. I'm hoping to start here, and feel its obvious to have the larger printer.
I think I'm going to start with Pro worlds $169 press, stock prints [they have a great selection] and eventually want to do my own in computer designs. Unfortunatly, I'm on a budget. I can see upgrading equip. as I go.
I can live with my HP for now, get an 11x17 in the next few months.
Chuck, I agree, 9" looks small. Which 11x17 printer do you use?
Girlz, good info, how is the 1400, someone else suggested it? I think you posted about the AC show, I will go for one day to look around. Sorry I missed the free registration.
Yeah...Budget is my middle name...Everything I purchased has been 2nd hand. My heat presss is so old I can't even find out the company that made it. My GX-24 was purchased from ebay. 1400 and higher are good printers..but as for me..because I was/am on a budget...I went to ebay and got a 1280..which prints 11x17, but if you're crafty enough you can get a 1400 for a pretty good price.
Yes, I bought my 1400 from Epson.com for $143. It's a refurb... looks and acts like new, like my other refurbs from Epson.com. (I think I've bought 7 so far: 3 c120's, one to use and two for the ink, 3 cx9400 fax/printers, one to keep and two as gifts, and the 1400. All of them work fine.)
They go on sale at Epson. They go on sale at retailers as well. Some folks have found great deals like this on new ones (and some refurbs) just by googling Epson 1400.
Are you sure the free registration is over? For the ISS Long Beach Show, I was able to register for free, even tho it was within 30 days of the show. If you haven't tried registering, it's worth a shot, I took one, and it went thru. Try codes t-shirt or post. Those are the two I've seen. Good luck to you. =)
Thanks for the info, good to hear about refurbished. Most of the new 1400's looked like $250-300. I try to regist for free, hope it works. Thanks again

Hey Kevin. =)
I just registered (by accident) for the ISS show in Orlando for this weekend, and it went thru for free.
Then I went and registered (on purpose, lol) for ISS Atlantic City, and it went thru, free again.
The site is issshows.com and the code was post, so it should work for you.
Yes, the refurbs can be a great deal... way better than some of the new retail prices. Some folks were getting 'new' ones for under $200... google is a great friend! (and the epson.com site! )
