Default printer and paper ?

I have a HP 7200, and whatever ink cartiges I buy at staples #56,57. the standard stuff.
Is the printer and cartidges OK for general printing, or to get started?
I know it "depends" but, approx. how many shirts will one set of cartidges do? a good guess will do.
Does the color cartidge, or the black usually run out first?
Is it worth buying an "Ink refiller" kit?
11x17 paper, approx cost of a printer?
I want to download an image of a fish, then put the name of the fish above or below the image. 8x11 might be large enough, but if an 11x17 set up is not too expensive I would get one. I have to stay small for budget reasons, but will eventually attempt to grow.
Thanks

Default Re: printer and paper ?

Check the cartridges to make sure they are pigment ink. I have an hp and only the black is pigment the colors are dye which don't work too well. From reading a few posts here, even some of the black cartridges are not pigment so I guess it depends on the hp model. But check to make sure.

Can not possibly tell you how many shirts you can print because all that would depend on the size of the image you are printing and how much ink you lay down for each print. This is impossible to answer even by guessing.

You said you have to stay on a small budget. Right now on Epson.com they have a C120 for $31.00 with free shipping. Epson is a favorite here and the ink that comes with it is pigment ink and works great on shirts.

Do a couple of searches on here regarding printers and you will find other posts that may answer your other questions.

Good Luck!

Katrina

Thanks, $31 should be easy enough.
