Default T-shirt Fits & Colors

This may sound like an odd question but,

Have you ever noticed black shirts fitting smaller than other colors? My girlfriend made that statement awhile back and I kinda brushed it off. But, I put on a medium (my normal size) black tee and it was very tight...closer to a small. Was this coincidence and maybe I got a mis-sized medium, or is this an odd phenom?

Crazy huh?

Try weighing it. Dark colored T-shirts are heavier than white/light colored T-shirts.

Same brand of t-shirt with white being bigger than the black?

It does seem like something that might be a mis-sew.

Hey John, I agree. And same goes with black pants running smaller even though the same brand and size as other colors. I noticed this a few years ago but did'nt think anymore about it until reading your post.

How come that happened? using same material & just different color still? White once may be lil OLD(made it last year) & Black once can be NEW?(made/manufactured this month?). reason can be Black t-shirts demands more......just 1 thing i thought abt.

Can ask company if they might have mistaken by sending similar kind a model number? i found some AA shirts looks almost same. only thing that makes difference is model number?

I think it's wishful thinking, or anecdotally noticing random product variation without correctly correlating it. If not, then I'd put it down to the fact that black will likely spend longer in the dye bath (where garments tend to shrink).
